This is the "You can't fire me, I quit" dance that is performed at changes of administration.
If you can resist the lust for power and the pay grade, you stay in a management level that is not subject to senate approval. You become a member of the WeBees. Those are the folks that say "We be here before you came, We be here after you leave." Or in other words, the permanent members of the swamp.
I read that he resigns on Jan 20th.
All political appointees (of which Bookless is merely one) typically submit their letter of resignation at the change of an Administration. The incoming Administration then decides which to accept.
Unless someone has facts to the contrary, Bill's resignation is an ordinary and unremarkable event.
Good riddance to another LLNL apparatchik
One narcissist gone. Legions of narcissists ready to fill the role. Nothing will change.
