LLNL 2026

The “LANSLLNS” for-profit cash cow empire, took a blow when LANS lost the contract to manage LANL in favor of Triad.

Will the surviving for-profit LLNS retain the contract to manage LLNL in 2026?

The low hanging fruit here is a 10% CA sales tax exemption with a non-profit LLNL contractor in 2026, on top of a non-profit lower annual award fee.

I think LLNLs will be out.

Never underestimate the pond scum residue of Bechtel.

Good points, but how “well connected” is LLNS really, to keep them the LLNL contractor in 2026 and beyond?

Would the state of California lobby for LLNS as a for-profit entity in order to keep the 10% sales tax in play?

The state of New Mexico and local NM communities, lobbied for a for-profit status contractor to manage LANL for that very reason, and NNSA leadership said no thank you, and awarded the LANL contract to Triad, a non-profit, when the NNSA removed LANS, the prior for-profit contractor from LANL.
