I am pretty sure you would have to have reported that in your initial clearance paper work and the background check would have found anything like that. This is not new. If you got arrested for attacking some elderly "fascists" walking their dog in Portland that would be in your record.

Who knows what these investigators look at. I remember when they were obsessed with alcohol, asking people “did you ever have a drink with so and so?”. Meanwhile, a Chinese intelligence officer can come here as a graduate student, get his degree and US citizenship, and then get clearance and access to nuclear secrets. China has a bunch of formerly Q cleared LANL employees that have gone back to China. The system is a total joke.

With respect, you seem to have an answer seeking a question. Please read the topic question again.
Unless DOE/NNSA say otherwise, if one does not update their “Questionnaire for National Security Positions” (QNSP) and or inform their local security office (LSO) with any Antifa associations and then gets caught, they may have their security clearance temporarily suspended or revoked. The applicant for a security clearance does not have the authority to be dismissive of any particular security clearance guideline.
Clarification from DOE/NNSA on Antifa associations is of value so there aren’t any misunderstandings or surprises. Many jobs at LLNL and other Labs are contingent on acquiring and maintaining a security clearance.

Being against Antifa is not the same thing as being MAGA, not by a long shot. Let me explain how this works. Suppose you are a liberal who who owns a shop in Portland or Santa Monica. You had you shop destroyed by Antifa in 2020 or 2021. You might just might have a problem with them and still be non MAGA. Maybe you just do not like riots, violence or political assassinations, so you against J6 rioters and the 2020 rioters.
It is not that hard to understand. Logic try it, it works and will open your eyes. If you do not get this I do not think you are in a position to speak about intelligence or how educated people are or are not.

A name of group does not in and of itself, shield it from scrutiny. Actions of a group based in the USA of any name, if it has a pattern of violence, may lead to a “domestic terrorist organization” declaration. Sorry this doesn’t meet your expectations.

If you summed up the US population you will find that on average Republicans and Democrats have about the same level of eduction and republicans may edge it out a bit more. We can go through the math if you like.
Also another fun fact. Political violence is in fact overrepresented by the left by a huge margin. These so called reports you see in the media saying is always right wing always leave out the large scale riots on the left. If you include this it massively skew the results to left.
3rd fact violent crime itself is really a leftwing phenomena. This one is a bit tricky since crime is often non-political but if you looked at the political parties people who comment crime leans toward it is again heavily left wing.
If you had an artifa sticker on your computer or a Che Guaerra poster in college you probably fine. I think you need to have been part of an organization that supports terror. If you are in college it is probably best to stay away from any organization that is extreme left or right.

I think one would have to lack intelligence to work at the labs and not be a MAGA supporter. How can anybody witness the incredible level of inefficiency, incompetence and waste and not draw the conclusion that the system is in dire need of serious reform and cost cutting. Oh, and that while nuclear weapons mission thing. Wasn't if Obama who got the Nobel peace prize just for mentioning that he wanted to get rid of nukes? Well, give me one two because I nearby declare by intention to get rid of hunger and disease.

It's best not to think any thoughts at all these days. The government doesn't so much care about left or right, terrorist or pacifist, but rather thinking mind vs. unquestioning mind. The ideal lab employee these days is somebody with a warm pool of jello on their shoulders. It's also the path to promotion into upper management.
