Tri-Valley Cares needs to be on this if they aren't already. We need to make sure that NNSA and LLNL does not make good on promises to pursue such stupid ideas as doing Plutonium experiments on NIF. The stupidity arises from the fact that a huge population is placed at risk in the short and long term. Why do this kind of experiment in a heavily populated area? Only a moron would push that kind of imbecile area. Do it somewhere else in the god forsaken hills of Los Alamos. Why should the communities in the Bay Area be subjected to such increased risk just because the lab's NIF has failed twice and is trying the Hail Mary pass of doing an SNM experiment just to justify their existence? Those Laser EoS techniques and the people analyzing the raw data are all just BAD anyways. You know what comes next after they do the experiment. They'll figure out that they need larger samples. More risk for the local population. Stop this imbecilic pursuit. They wan...

For myself, I don't think I would. They are just a private corporation, gone in a few more years. Why would I do that when I could work for Microsoft or IBM and possibly get some bonuses along the way.

Forget about attracting new talent in the future; worry about the present. If you're under 50, you should seriously look at other options now. If you're under 40, I really feel sorry for you. It's time to get out of Dodge.
Nobody said this was a contest of anything. Einstein didn't have a spell-checker (that's what those little red underlines mean, though they won't fix the wrong use of a word or grammatical mistakes). And nobody is ever going to confuse you with Einstein. The point is: how can you expect anyone take you seriously if you can't write a simple English sentence, or can't be bothered to do so even if you have the ability? It's a reflection of either lack of caring, or incompetence. How did you ever get hired at a place like LLNL in the first place? It smacks of lack of attention to detail, a scary thought given the kinds of work conducted there.

We have to drop costs another 30% next FY just to have our costs down to FY07 levels. Doubt there will be much hiring, probably more layoffs, mostly in the S&T and O&B PADs.
Lastly, how could readers of this Blog think we have the "Best & Brightest" working at LLNL now with all the misspelled words by fellow bloggers? For crying out loud, please use a dictionary and at least try to make the company you still work for another three weeks look good.
