Most will remember Philip Coyle was a senior manager at LLNL in the laser and weapons programs.

Scanning this report, it seems like that make a few good points. Especially the the proposed Mod of the B-61 is really a new system.

Do these people have an editor? The document is full of basic factual errors.

This group appears to be no more than a shill for JASON, recomending at least four JASON studies in the exec summary alone.

"Consolidating these functions in one building will improve safety by reducing the need to move high explosive materials around the site. operations"

LOL... come on - it's TATB/IHE, not HMX.

Wow, learn something new everyday. Did not know that TATB is the only explosive used in these systems.

Good point -Thanks for paying attention. So why not get going & get the HMX systems out of the stockpile? New pits, etc. why not - the safty & security improvements are well worth the cost.

You guys are quibbling over inside baseball details. This report is a good summary of the information that has been going around in NNSA circles. It's pretty interesting.

Where did that come from? I took the comment that you quoted as sarcasm since the poster above implied that there is no HMX.

I think the report was interesting as well.

They missed the mark on morale, youth retention and the long-term national commitment. And senior leadership competence. And organization design and strategy. The important stuff.

Who cares about the important stuff. Where's my annual 20% lab manager's bonus. That's what's important. Daddy wants a new sports car!
