If that happened to a LANL or LLNL person they would lose their clearance on the spot.
I’m presuming that person has a will lose their clearance. Very sad story. Obviously the stealing is some sort of compulsive behavior that needs treatment. I feel sympathy that this person has lost their promising career over this.

I have to disagree with you on this, I say the person keep the job and even moves up.

Not necessarily, given the potential for political blow back. We had a manager not lose his clearance and was not fired for threatening subordinates to conceal his active extra marital affair (Adjudicative Guideline D: Sexual Behavior) and nothing happened to him because of his North America Indigenous Peoples status.

In terms of disciplinary actions true, but if it is who I think he is, he later moved up the management ranks about as far as he could go with no issue.

Ok you are correct, I should have said a non manager or run of the mill worker. Different rules for different people.
