 Scooby, will you please stop tolerating this pro_Putin troll? His posts are revolting and inhumane. I understand he does not violate directly your rules, but when is enough blind acceptance of slaughter enough?

Scooby it is your blog. Like it or not the NNSA labs are at the very least indirectly involved in current international politics. I am going to be a bit blunt, the above post is from a simpleton. I would have hoped LLNL/LANL/Sandia currently employ or have employed people with at least a modicum of rational thinking skills. If I am Putin troll with such revolting and inhuman posts it would be very easy to point out why beyond insults. I also argue that it could be possible that prolonging a conflict for rather dubious reason is also inhuman. Just something to think about, but there is no thinking any more on this just reaction. I am sure this is all going end well.

I listen to NPR, read the NYT, and follow smart people on social media. I myself am a very smart person and as such I will do what other smart people say. Any deviation from my position must be from Russians trolls. If the enlightened ones want ww3 so be it. I have not heard NPR or the NYT, or my social media news saying anything about the downside of ww3. Being the smart person I am, I know I am informed and my friends on facebook and twitter confirm that I am a smart person. Not only am I a smart and educated person who does exactly as I am told, I am also a good person. Good people do good actions. If we start ww3 then that is good. Did I mention I am a smart and informed person?

I just read Russia lost 180,000 soldiers, that means that in less than one yaer they lost 4 times what the US lost in all of 10 years of Vietnam. There is no way any nation can sustain such losses and keep fighting. I simply do not understand why the Russians do not just get rid of Putin. They are losing this war very badly and NATO just approved tanks for Ukraine which they will use to take over Crimea very shortly. Russia is now out of tanks, out of planes and soon will have no soldiers left. I know the mobilized 200k people but after the first 180k got killed I doubt they will want to fight I still amazed that Russia has lasted as long as it has. My guess is the Russian tolls will also start to decline as the last of them will be drafted. I also just saw on Daily Mail the new Ukraine death ray, that should put the fear into the Russians.

I simply do not understand why the Russians do not just get rid of Putin.

Maybe because if they even mention it to their friends or neighbors they will be jailed or killed?

Tri-Valley Cares needs to be on this if they aren't already. We need to make sure that NNSA and LLNL does not make good on promises to pursue such stupid ideas as doing Plutonium experiments on NIF. Trump is to gut the labs.

The budget has a 20% decrease to DOE office of science, 20% cut to NIH. NASA also gets a cut. This will  have a huge negative effect on the lab. Crazy, juts crazy. He also wants to cut NEA and PBS, this may not seem like  a big deal but they get very little money and do great things.

LLNL un-diversity

Actual post from Dec. 15 from one of the streams. This is a real topic. As far as promoting women and minorities even if their qualifications are not as good as the white male scientists, I am all for it. We need diversity at the lab and if that is what it takes, so be it.  Quit your whining. Look around the lab, what do you see? White male geezers. How many African Americans do you see at the lab? Virtually none. LLNL is one of the MOST undiverse places you will see. Face it folks, LLNL is an institution of white male privilege and they don't want to give up their privileged positions. California, a state of majority Hispanics has the "crown jewel" LLNL nestled in the middle of it with very FEW Hispanics at all!
