Should LLNL be managed by a non-profit contractor ASAP?

Based on "business need", why doesn't the NNSA rebid the contract to run LLNL now in favor of the non-profit Triad model? A rebid to a non-profit contractor would preserve millions of federal dollars annually for LLNL programmatic missions. Isn't this cost savings measure precisely what NNSA Administrator Lisa Gordon-Hagerty wants?

"In a late Monday email to Weapons Complex Morning Briefing, Burgess affirmed he received his information directly from NNSA Administrator Lisa Gordon-Hagerty during a September meeting in Washington, D.C. Gordon-Hagerty’s office believes Triad is required by the Federal Acquisition Regulation to seek any cost savings possible, including 501(c)(3) status, Burgess said."

You apparently haven’t been paying attention. This was decided long ago at the Bohemian Grove. Bechtel will remain on the take.

Interesting perspective. However today at LANL, Bechtel doesn't remain "on the lake", on a pond, and doesn't even have urinal privileges. The NNSA is finally coming around.

In case you have not noticed Bechtel has turned LLNL, despite what some usurpers keep posting Bechtel did not touch the pension, did not have anything to do with the mistakes that the Bolivian people brought upon themselves, and as for LANL we all know that they are beyond any normal people to manage. Any book that has been mentioned about Bechtel is simply libel. The lab should be left to be run by UC and Bechtel.

Only the top,of the ticket is non profit at LANL. The rest are bleeding her dry.

The salaries at LANL are so high that profit is a noise level issue. Janitors and administrators are making 80k per year.

May Bechtel rule for a long long time.

Bechtel Man doesn't get it yet. Maybe he never will. Fanaticism is like that.

LANL people do not get it yet. They never will, Cowboys are like that.

The book by Sally Denton about Bechtel is slander, pure slander, what I don't understand is why there Bechtel does not sue her and everyone else that slanders them. They need better lawyers, their silence just gives their enemies ammunition. None of it true, none of it can be true. Bechtel has done a fantastic job with the LLNL.

I find it fascinating how one brainwashed Bechtel manager can single handedly dispense with decades of poor behavior by the Bechtel inner circle. That company has been a parasite since day one. Apparently even the sloth like bureaucrats of the NNSA have finally taken notice. Let that soak in for a minute, Bechtel guy.

Parasites. Hmmmm. Soak on that UC? The Lab has been full of parasites for decades. At least at LANL.

In your opinion, who should Bechtel sue first for "slander", DOJ, DOE, or Congress?

Sue any an all that besmirch their good name, I would start with LANL itself, Sally Denton and the people of LANL. They need to make sure that any trial is in New Mexico, and just like the Tapia case LANL will lose, ha ha ha ha. My 9:50 PM brother has it right it was UC to blame, always has been, cased closed. If you say otherwise you lying and maybe even slander. Do not speak ill of Bechtel again, no one at LANL has that right. And before anyone mentions it, no I am not bitter, and if anyone says that they are lying or committing slander. You live in FACT VOID WORLD or the so called FVW. I live at the center of FACTS themselves or the COF, center-of-facts. 9:50pm is one of my satellites. If you say anything different than you are lying.

So if someone disagrees with your opinion, they are lying or slandering you? Wow, that's quite a new definition of those terms. "Case closed" means no due process applies, just your opinion is enough to convict? New reading of the Constitution to me. Your "center-of facts" seems somehow fact-free. Only your opinion seems to matter. Curious.

Just 2 cents from an outsider, all of my old sources are telling me that Bechtel national is on the outs throughout the DOE complex. If they were not, they would have kept bettis and would have won the reactor rebuild at idaho. I Havent talked to Sully, he would have the straight scoop. Whomever down there that still chats with your old capital group that ran away to Vogle, talk to sully!

They did get the vtr at idaho

Bechtel had presence at 80% of the weapons complex. LANL, LLNL, SRS, Y-12, Pantex, Hanford, Bettis, they were even at Idaho a few years back. It was time for the DOE to reduce that percentage.

Correction: It was WAY PAST time for the DOE to reduce that percentage.

Don’t count on it. In the long term Bechtel will be back. Hell Fluor hired NA-1. They might start running labs.

Bummer about the B getting their teeth back in at Idaho. I can see another VIT plant scenario developing..nothing wrong with Bechtel that sunlight and holy water cant fit.

shame, INL is a pleasant place! not the site but the labs near town.
