By the besides Hecker another person Dan Holz was a LANL staff member. He left after the Nanos insanity.
You can say what you want about Hecker, but be has as more scientific and mission accomplishments than the last five LANL directors combined.
In any case I am an educated person who reads the NYT and listens to NPR. As such I have no choice but to assume the Doomsday clock people are all Putin propagandists. We must support Ukraine agains Putin no matter what because Putin and Russia are evil people. If it means WW3 so be it. If you disagree with me you are a Russian troll working for Putin. The Russian people are not evil. They are kept in the dark and brainwashed by state-controlled media. There have been many stories out of Russia lately about those with close relatives in Ukraine who are being killed and maimed by Putin, supported by his fanatical military and the oligarchs desperate to keep their fortunes. Many Russian people understand what is going on and hate "Putin's war." They have no way to do anything. Opposing the war openly is illegal and gets you thrown in jail or worse. They hate that their sons, fathers, etc. are being sent to Ukraine with little or no training or equipment to die trying to kill what may be close relatives.

How would you know this? It sounds like a feel good story from NPR that hanse basis or the than "multiple" unknown sources. Anyone familiar with Russian history knows what you are saying sounds suspect. It also sounds like propoganda. AgaIn this is just silly preschool nonsense. People on both sides have been slaughtered and are being slaughtered in wars all over the world, yet some wars we care about some wars and others not. The argument because of "right and wrong" is clearly not the motivation or else we have been interested in many other wars or at least not been on the wrong some of some the ones we did get involved in. Please can someone give me a rational reasons beyond drivel. Again I am amazed that this is a blog related to the NNSA labs that this is the level of thinking we have.
