No new taxes!

I know you are going to say this is not LLNL related but in reality it is since this movement needs to be stopped immediately and we have 8000+ people who need to write the Governator and say, "Hell no, we won't pay a dime more of taxes for any reason". If they get away with this you may as well sell your homes and rent for life or leave California. I'm tired of being used as the Bank of America and being taxed into poverty.

OK, as long as we are going off topic, I'll pour some gasoline on. We need to revise Prop 13 and end the two-thirds budget vote. Then hold the responsible individuals and parties responsible at the polls.

Nope they need to leave prop 13 alone, keep our taxes as low as possible and hand the SOB's who chose to do otherwise. The state needs to learn how to run on the money they currently collect and if they can't do that then get the heck out of dodge. I'm sick of the answer to all their financial problem being, "lets just tax those who have successfully made it in life by living a life style within their means" so we can bring them down to poverty so we can all be equal. NO to socialism and out with the current party and supporters. Taxes on any property should never exceed 1% of the value and even that's to much in some cases. It's time to clean the government of ALL socialist ideaologies.

This clowns going to tank the nation with his "spend today and worry about tomorrow at a later date. he will always be remembered for what'll be known as Obamanonics. The every issue that got us where we are today. Living beyond your means and borrowing yourself out of debt. It does work and it never will. Oh and by the way taxing the people to assure their economic screw-up are washed under the rug as if they never happened is the ultimate insult to the working class. Now you know why there's no ammo on the shelf.

Actually, thats called Reaganomics after the inventor of this policy that feeds the wealthy, at the expense of the middle class, while building a monster deficits with no plan of how to pay for things. The last president Bush also applied this theory to bring about an even greater level of devastation to the economy.

What's strange in the second case the repubs were in charge of congress and they just sat on their hands and let things spiral out of control.

Who cares if the # correct. All that matter is they stop any change to prop 13. I for one am tired of paying all the freeloaders way through life and I for one want all taxes reduced. Oh and BTW I thought by now this would be down to 4000 people which is far more then they need.

San Francisco County Assessor Phillip Ting filed papers with the Secretary of State's Office last week to create the Close the Proposition 13 Loophole committee.

Eventually, Ting told The Sacramento Bee that he wants to put a measure on the ballot to create a split roll, which would increase tax rates on commercial property.

Under the various split-roll schemes that Ting envisions, homeowners would retain their Proposition 13 tax rates, but commercial properties would be taxed at a higher rate, or their property values would be allowed to rise more than the 2 percent per year permitted now, or they would be reassessed more often.

Find this idiot and get him and his type out of office by noon today. What a dick...

Obamanonics for sure will tank this country. His clan is predicted to take the $10T from 9-11, Iraq and Katrina to a new level of $23T and then on to $53T. You people should really take the time to listen to the special entitled "Ten trillion and counting" by PBS Frontline and see your future. Make sure your children are sitting by you when you watch it so they can see they're going to be the ones paying your way into retirement. In other words this administration has not only found a way to screw you but they've found a way to screw all who should be born in the future. The rule is, "you can not borrow yourself out of debt". How hard is that to understand. It's time to let the cards fall where they may and start all over again. Maybe by 2012 what some people claim will be the end of the world will in fact just be the end of it as we know it, whereby the entire worlds economy collapse all at the same time. I don't know what that'll bring but I can tell you the cause will have resulted from a global economy, one world order, greed, the co dependency of the US on foreign national labor and the loss of being an industrial nation. Isn't this a beautiful thing.

You are absolutely correct. Anyone that has to kiss the governmenst ass to retain a job is worthless anyway. I will never bow to a master so as to assure I retain a job and anyone with any balls would see it the same way. In reality that's what the NIF dedication was all about. Sad, I'd say.

If these pieces of crap in the California state government touch prop 13 for any reason it's my hopes every business in this state closes down and moves to another state where you'll be treated more kindly, and if they screw with prop 13 for the home owners I'd say it time to sell and move on too. Consequently with the home owners leaving and the business shutting down you'll have more people in the unemployment lines, but no tax base to feed the pool of parasite from. You idiots that love to imposes taxes on other so as to support your social programs deserve what you get.

Trump is to gut the labs.

The budget has a 20% decrease to DOE office of science, 20% cut to NIH. NASA also gets a cut. This will  have a huge negative effect on the lab. Crazy, juts crazy. He also wants to cut NEA and PBS, this may not seem like  a big deal but they get very little money and do great things.

LLNL un-diversity

Actual post from Dec. 15 from one of the streams. This is a real topic. As far as promoting women and minorities even if their qualifications are not as good as the white male scientists, I am all for it. We need diversity at the lab and if that is what it takes, so be it.  Quit your whining. Look around the lab, what do you see? White male geezers. How many African Americans do you see at the lab? Virtually none. LLNL is one of the MOST undiverse places you will see. Face it folks, LLNL is an institution of white male privilege and they don't want to give up their privileged positions. California, a state of majority Hispanics has the "crown jewel" LLNL nestled in the middle of it with very FEW Hispanics at all!
