Layoffs of 100 Security Police at LLNL in November?

Layoffs of 100 Security Police at LLNL in November.

I heard a rumor and that may be all it is but I heard they laid off 100 of the 152 security police at LLNL in November. Seems like a lot of security to dump for now reason in a time when terrorism looms everywhere and for any reason, especially when LLNL is going to be open campus very soon. What a joke that is.

Are we talking about November 2011? We're almost done with November of this year and nary a word anywhere that this has happened.

Will layoffs occur? Of course they will. Will it be a cut of 2/3 as the original poster's rumor claims, I don't know.

With the near term closure of superblock this cutback is of no surprise.

I would wish the staff well. I knew that my protection was secondary to the SNM and equipment here, but they did provide a measure of comfort against threats, real or imagined. Having a law enforcement background and being dumped into a workplace where cities and counties are cutting back on LEO, I feel for them. It may be a situation where for them, it's follow the special nuclear material, and that's where the job may be.

"I liked the old days when everyone spoke English and there were NO foreign nationals from anywhere in the world here, except for a few who were watched constantly and very closely."

Let's look at some names you might recognize from a little project called Manhattan, you may have heard of it:

Edward Teller, Leo Szilard, Jon Van Neumann, Eugene Wigner,Michael Polanyi, Stanslaw Ulam, Enrico Fermi, Hans Bethe, I.I. Rabi, George Kistiakowski, Rudolf Peierls, Otto Fritsch, Emillio Segre.

Was English the native language of any of those people, NO.

Were any of them born as US citizens, NO.

And just in case you didn't get the hint, they designed and built the Atom bombs. And one of those fellows was the founding father of LLNL.

The foreign nationals of yester-year were far different then today's parasites and the U.S. of America actually was United, not Un-United via the infestation of the so called politically correct multi-cultural "can't we all get along open door policy" whereby the working class are expected to support these non-US citizens that invade our land and yet stay loyal to their home country in hopes to undermine all America ever was.

The foreign nationals of yester-year were far different [than] today's parasites...

Yes, 160 years ago many of them were Irish and the establishment of that time worried that the country was going to hell.

Yes, a 100 years ago many of them were Italian and the establishment of that time worried that the country was going to hell.

And let's not forget the Chinese, who with the Irish built a lot of the railroads that made plenty of other people rich.

Part of the insanity is the political party that is hollering the most about illegal emigration has plenty of members that are getting rich building houses, running businesses and having their homes cared for by said emigrants.

Yes, the 'parasites' are using government services. Many are also paying taxes. And obviously they are contributing to the economy given the voracious appetites for their services. I cannot recall anyone trying to give an honest account of the balance between the two. That would be a nice basis for beginning a real conversation.
