Who is the most-hated man in the WC?
Who is the most hated man ever in the US nuclear weapons complex?

Certainly Teller was/is despised by LANL, but I think you need to look at Hazel O'Leary or Spencer Abraham as head of DOE to see some one who really screwed the works for the entire Complex. For me, it was Hazel who really didn't like the weapons side of things and anything associated with said weapons. At least Teller had intelligence, the same can't be said for Hazel.
9:44 pm is apparently not aware of the deep hatred Teller attracted and still attracts outside the fences of LLNL. Even among scientists, remember Oppenheimer? Star wars?
Admiral Watkins single handedly shut down the whole complex, when he raided Rocky Flats (which never recovered) and sent tiger teams around the complex. The plants costs doubled while the labs ran scared. If the cold had not ended, he should have been tried for treason.
I worked on Star Wars and it was a great time at the Labs. 1000 of the best and brightest physicists and engineers. Our two volume classified document detailing the design and physics basis for the ground based Star Wars laser project at LLNL was 30 years ahead of it's time.
Notice I said Ground based, not Space based. An no, this was not a laser design that resembled in any way the NIF laser that we built at LLNL or the LIFE laser proposal.
Pete Nanos, once he comes back like all the other rejects who have recently returned to lucrative positions within the NNSA. Given the way NNSA operates, I'm sure his sudden resignation back in 2005 was only temporary.
C'mon now, Mick's not hated, and if you ran into him in the WC, you'd be begging for his autograph! Come to think of it, wouldn't life at LANSLLNS be a whole lot better under Mick and Keith?

How about "NWC"? "WC" is British for public restroom.

Rocky Flats deserved to be taken down, so we should thank Watkins for whatever role he played.

Talk about ivory tower, a hundred supporters inside the gates do not outweigh millions outside the gates who hated Teller and Star Wars.
Where is your evidence that " millions outside the gates hated Teller and Star Wars"
I don't buy it ! Reagan fully supported Star Wars and served two full terms with majority public support.
In fact Star Wars continues today with a budget of around $1B/year at various non-DOE labs.

Yeah, I agree, because if I had a lot of stromboli for dinner last night, I always have a hard time in the WC the next day! Hey, know what I'm sayin'?
