Yes, the latest top level post on the LANL blog indicates that it has shut down for now and I don't expect it will be much longer until this blog follows the same path.
Face it, a dysfunctional NNSA and their "for-profit" corporate suits who manage the labs have won. It's not worth fighting a losing battle any longer. No one is listening or cares to hear about the dismal morale and the major problems that are emerging at the NNSA science labs.
Get with the program that both LLNS and NNSA have laid out for the future of the weapons research labs or leave. Those are your choices - whether you like them or not is totally irrelevant. Think it over and then choose wisely. No one is coming to save either LANL or LLNL from their decent.

Job Title: Blog Maintainer
Job Description: Long hours, no pay, no measurable benefits. Current maintainers totally fed up. Plenty of (potential) upside. Must be willing to take abuse from Anonymous Cowards.
Plenty of purported reportable corporate malfeasance and active cover-up activities currently in progress. Think explosions.
Applicants inquire within. Contact current (and soon-to-be past) blog maintainers for job interview.

Sorry,
I did not read the top-level post.
The "fat lady" has sung. It's over.
You know things are really getting bad at the NNSA labs when their outside blogs are beginning to call it quits and shut down. Employees have been beaten down and are giving up. The for-profit LLCs and their highly paid executives have won... the employees have lost. Game over.
I'm not applying for the position but, I would like to see the LANL or LLNL Blogs expand their focus to issues within the NCW - not just limited to the Labs. NNSA & the large corporate influence is an issue that affects the entire NWC & lots of NWC employees are concerned with its current direction.
Imo,the negative impact on our national labs is much more serious than the impact to PX or Y-12 for example but, opening the NWC issues to a wider audience can benefit all.
Maintaining blogs is very time consuming. If there is not not at least a little moderation, then things get out of hand.
I usually don't change posts, but I will sometimes hold off posting it until everyone can "cool off" a bit first. I can't recall more than half a dozen posts that never made it and of those were some advertisement that was attempted to be post.
Then there is finding content and trying to make it pretty.

It isn't hard to maintain a blog. It just isn't true.
Latest rejected post by Mr. Doug Roberts at LANL: The Rest of the Story!

8. Is Frank Young dead?
He never responded to this provocative question.
After that I realized he was severely sick. (Did he die of H1N1, influenza, pneumonia, stroke, or a heart attack?)
My condolences to his wife, and parents.
Frank Young (1963? - January 23, 2010), RIP.
The LANL Blog assistant (Doug) just reported that the maintainer of that blog, Frank, has suddenly died.
Because of this, it looks like the LANL Blog will soon be completely shut down for good.
The LANL Blog is shutting down. Doug Roberts reported that Frank Young has died, at that Doug was shutting the blog down.
Frank's involvement on the blog was fueled by his search of being contaminated while working at the lab. He never found his answer, and now he never will.
We've lost a porthole that looked into the sinking ship that was once proudly known as LANL.

Don't worry, the official "porthole" of news from LANS, LLNS, Bechtel and NNSA is still open for business and pumping out the facts.
Get your news from reliable sources. The NNSA labs are doing better than ever thanks to the fantastic leadership of NNSA and the new LLC teams. We are so lucky. Onward and upward, ho!
