LANS cited for another safety violation

LANL still operating under dark shadow of LANS

Even without any additional fine from NNSA to the now defunct operator, this is still a damning official action. Any near miss is serious and one at a nuclear weapons lab carries heightened risk for all involved. By the time this accident happened, McMillan had dumped almost all of the leadership that wasn't home grown and installed UC lifers in those roles. Only time will show if the Triad group has better judgement in selecting leadership.

Give DOE a pass on this decision, in any case if a large fine had been set then the bill would have been paid by Triad not by LANS. Read the story carefully and see that the current LANL press shop responded to the findings. This is more proof that Triad needs to move away from the former LANS managers. Unfortunately the turnover was limited to a very few managers and almost all of the middle level remains the same.
