Will he stick around?

When McMillan was named Director, there were several stories that he planned to serve in that capacity for 5 years and then move on. With the anniversary date coming up this summer, will he stick around?

I was disappointed to hear that LANS will be around until September 2018. That gives McMillian and his management minions (Leasure, Wallace, Bishop, Yarbrough, Cabbil, Zerkel, Benner, etc.) more time to milk the golden cow to death. It's too bad the word "expedite" is not in the government's vocabulary.

The problem is that it's going to be incredibly difficult to find the next caretaker for the cow that has been milked nearly to death. NNSA realizes that they will need more time to identify a gullible fool to hand the poor animal to. Hence the delay. Of course, this gives LANS more time to continue torturing the dying creature.

With zero possibility for anyone from inside LANL to take over, they would have to go with an external search. That's also unlikely to work, considering that the contract is over next year. So, it looks like Charlie and his PAD/AD minions are not going anywhere soon.

Good ol' Charlie "Follow-the-Money" McMillan would most likely want to continue receiving his perks and big salary of $2 mill annually for a few more years.

Now, he can. He doesn't have to leave by this summer. Winning.

DOE/NNSA just gave Charlie McMillion another 2 1/2 year blank check for his incredible performance last year. Would you leave in this scenario? Not!

I saw Charlie one time in Smiths, said Hi to him. Not with the intention of trying to strike up a conversation with the great man and keep him from doing his great work. Just a normal hi you would say to anyone out of politeness. He looked at me with this menacing look as if to say, "how dare you even try to embark me on the path of responding to you, thou nothing little creature." Made me wonder if I had fooled myself into thinking I had said hi while I had actually said something else to him like go F yourself. Walked away laughing, with all his money he's a miserable man, and I think that's marvelous.

Wow, you guys complain about Charlie when you have arrogant a-holes like DJ Jazzy Mercer Smith and John "I did 13 underground tests" Fettucine?

Maybe he was upset because he wanted to go to Whole Foods instead? Maybe his reaction had nothing to do with you.

And, what about those posed pictures of him on the web pages where he looks like a cobra about to strike ? Pure evil.

Charlie has always been dismissive of the little people. They wire them that way at MIT.

Both these people will engage you and anyone else in discussions. Sure they have their opinions and will certainly share them but they rather open to debate. Charlie avoids communication at all costs.

"They wire them that way at MIT." Not true this is just the way it is with Charlie,

With a reported $10M for 5 years and now $5M for 2 more years, Charlie is just "following the money."

Does anyone actually believe that Charlie will stay in Los Alamos one minute longer than the expiration time of the LANS contract? He is a scum carpetbagging Californian, who can't wait to get back to San Francisco to spend the millions he reaped on the backs of Northern New Mexicans. Good riddance!

I say this with all sincerity: Charlie McMillan is a classic example of a psychopath. They can be very good at achieving high positions and when they do, all under them suffer. The feelings of those who suffer under their domain means nothing. If they show any signs at all of compassion it is just awkward acting out and nothing more. Be very wary of this one.
