Optical Society of America joins the battle on the side of American Physical Society

Optical Society of America joins the battle on the side of American Physical Society, and sticks it's nose into partisan politics too.

Sorry to say, that since the Shah was overthrown, I've personally thought it a bad idea to be educating Iranians in ME, EE, Chem, and Phys at our top American universities. We should take "Death to America" seriously. But as a member of the OSA, I understand that these organizations (OSA, AIP, IEEE, etc..) have a large international following, so it's understandable that they would come out against any ban, even temporary.

But Iran better be careful. More ICBM tests and they are liable to get a "Gulf of Tonken" shoved down their throats !

Iranian shia are confused. It unleashes its ire at Israel, but it's existential enemies are Sunni Arabs, who regard them as permanent inimical apostates.

Well the existential question for Iran is... can the volatile Persian Shia join the nuclear weapons community peacefully, as Pakistan did, or...

But I don't think Trumpf, Mattis or others in command look at it this way. I think they wait like Roosevelt did in 1937-1941 for something to change the US electorates mind.

Meanwhile on Bloomberg Surveillance today, the former Finnish prime minister suggested that the UK-less EU was prepared to take over the US world leadership role as the US backed out. I couldn't stop laughing.

In fact Angela Merkel is now the leader of the Free work since the United states
elected trump. Obama handed the power over to her.

The liberals are sure saying that, it's funny as hell.

Why are you saying that? In fact Merkel is the ruler of the free world. Trump has no credibility on the world stage, none, hell half the of the US wants Merkel to control the world. Do you think people in Sweden care what Trumps thinks, hell no, do you think people in Malta care what Trumps things, hell no. Thank God Obama gave her the world power before the election.

He didn't have it to give. Refusal to exercise power is the same as not having it.

Merkel's popularity just hit a 5-year low. 51% of Germans think she shouldn't even run for re-election. In the face of her unpopularity, it seems obvious that she can't be the leader of the free world.

If things continue to go the way they're headed, she isn't going to be the leader of Germany, let alone the leader of the free world.

So what in the world were you thinking, Snowflake?

Please stop using "snowflake" unless you use it correctly. It is not a general purpose pejorative (sorry to use such large words for you) but applies to particular adherents of PC culture at US universities. Get it right, or don't use it.

Plus, Merkel is not going to lose. She will realize her mistakes and learn from them, in order to change her political tactics. Trump is incapable of that level of thinking.
