LANS' Board of Directors and TRIAD's

LANS/LLNS is overseen by a Board of Governors while Triad has a Board of Directors. Years ago I was told by the Lab Directors Office when the DD was reviewing a presentation I had prepared, not to refer to the LLNS Board of Governors as the Board of Directors. So is there any real significance to this difference in names? Does a Board of Directors have more legal authority/responsibility than a Board of Governors?

I would implore the new Triad Board of Governors to visit LANL and meet with workers. Understand the mission and goals of LANL. Some of former LANS Board of Governors never spoke to LANL workers, let alone set foot in New Mexico. In 10-years of being on the LANS Board of Governors did Norm Pattiz step foot in New Mexico. 10-years!

You do realize that the head of the Triad Board of Directors is the same as the head of the LANS Board of Governors - Ellen Tauscher.

The full Board:

Former Democratic Congresswoman Ellen Tauscher serves on the Executive Committee of the Atlantic Council. That is about as thoroughly "Deep State" as you can get. Seems like the heads of these NNSA governing boards always have that strong "Deep State" oder of aloofness about them. Former board chair Norm Pattiz certainly did. They live in a totally different world from the rest of us working peons. Not surprised that Pattiz never bothered to visit LANL during his 10 years as the chair. Why should he? He was above all that trivial stuff of knowing what a weapon lab really does and shaking hands with Little People of No Consequence.
