Civil war at Sandia.

A civil war has erupted at Sandia Labs:

https://twitter.com/realchrisrufo/status/1299008750729097216

A dissident electrical engineer named Casey Peterson emailed all 16,000 employees denouncing critical race theory in the lab and hoping to spark a rebellion against Sandia executives.

Wow, this dude has some guts.

A couple of points.

(1) He has some very good data and a few different takes than I have seen before.

(2) His data on how defunding the police will actually lead to a much worse conditions for the black community is particularly relevant.

Now what I want to know does Sandia have any legal authority to punish him? What exactly did he do wrong? I am sure they can find something but hats off to the guy.

A couple of other points could be made, that CRT, BLM, Antifa etc could be seen a threats to national security so perhaps the NNSA labs could in fact do work in this area. I understand freedom of speech but many of these groups are now violent, advocate violence, or the destruction of the United States. One could simply figure out ways to get information out to show for example the lack of evidence for systematic police violence against minority groups as there is lost of data and studies on this that the media simply refuses to acknowledge.

As one last point, I myself have come from a minority and high crime neighbored growing up which had a signifiant anti-police sentiment, we would also listen to all the rap music from late 80s, and early 90s with anti-police lyrics. A point that is missing from much of the current conversation is that some of the hatred for the police is not driven by perceived police brutality but by the fact that there is simply a large criminal element in many of these communities that naturally see the police as the enemy. The good honest hard working people in these communities (there are many I can assure of this) are going to be the ones that suffer the most if the police are abolished or defunded.

Just watched some more the video. Another interesting point is the background of Peterson. I have noticed that people that come from a poor background or have lived in poor communities are often the ones that see the nonsense of critical race theory and ideas that the police are bad.

I know this is true in my case. I can tell you a few things, that idea that poor communities are over-policed is false. They are under-policed. Also you can get away with lot more things in a poor community since the police simply do not have time or have more things to deal with. For example if one is in a nice neighborhood like Bell-Air if you threaten to kill someone with a hammer you will be arrested on the spot. Say in Compton that police will not even bother to show up since they have to deal with more serious crimes (I have seen this happen). So the idea that the police are harsher in the people in poor communities is false, they are harsher on people in wealthy communities. People do not seem to understand just how much more crime goes on in poor communities and how much of it goes unreported for many reasons. One of the big reasons is that much of the crime is criminal on criminal so no one wants the police involved. When I was growing up the Bloods and Crips hated each other but they both hated the cops even more. By the way things are actually much better now than the 80s despite how it may seem, much of the hype is due to the rise of phones to film stuff. Back in LA in the 80s they would kill like 1000 people a year, I remember them saying how Beruit wich was in a Civil war at the time was safer than LA.

Casey did a very nice job I hope this gets some traction. Again the big thing we need is "The numbers and data". That is how you fight this.

So the guy is put on paid administrative leave. I admire this guy particularly for his young age. If and when this comes to LANL I will also fight back, of course I have plenty of money and options so I will not exactly be taking any risks like Casey did. I certainly hope many others will also also stand. By the way I noticed that Mark Sellers at Sandia was one of the guys promoting this stuff which I find hilarious.

So the guy puts up a presentation on actual facts and they are now going after him. We are entering a truly dark age.

Anything like this at LLNL?

At LLNS we currently have a SJW Director. He is no Parney that's for sure and has stained his career with this new Inclusive BS. I am glad he is gone in disgrace.
If you don't believe that LLNS is also panicking (like Sandia) then check out as they are now inviting Conservatives like Catherine Baker (if I am correct?)to the table as Trump is having investigations. Sad.
ALSO MANY JUMPING SHIP WITH RETIREMENT THANK YOU SJW GOLDSTEIN for this mess.
Trump just fired TVA head board member, careful LLNS, careful.

Where there is smoke there is fire,
as they hate America we (the people, the great Deplorables) have Trump.
See you in November LLNS as I would advise you to tread carefully, very carefully.

This scandal is coming to LLNL, watch and learn. With our Big Lib management. Someone is going to pay.

One employee spams everyone at Sandia with political/culture war BS in response to senior management spamming employees with BS from the other side, and all of a sudden it's a "civil war?" Sheesh, some of you people really like to get melodramatic about this stuff.

Just because managers can flout the "no politics in the workplace" guideline, doesn't mean that you should.

"THANK YOU SJW GOLDSTEIN "

My guess is Goldstein plays a SJW but does not actually believe any of the stuff I know a few things about him. If you come from NYC in the 50s, 60s and 70s, then deep in your heart you could never, ever....ever be a real sjw. I understand you got to do what you got to do to survive and succeed. The East coast has their way and the West coast has their way so I will not judge him. Goldstein knows the score but he is a realist, which serves him well.

The problem that many of the higher ups will go along with this junk, and think they are high enough that it will never effect them. Sooner or later the chickens come home to roost. Goldstein knows full well where this leads but he is safe.

Goldstein is leaving but you may be right that others are going to use the current unrest to advance themselves. Fight it now because if you don't it will get really ugly.

The “hate America” tag line being trotted out these days is over the top. When you criticize a family member, do you hate them?

If the ‘a few bad apples’ defense is appropriate for law enforcement, likely it fits for the protesters, too.

These days, the "bad apples" on both sides are caught on video. Which ones pay consequences?

This is what I thought a few years ago that it was only a small number of people that where on the far left. The problem is that this hysteria is spreading to normal people now. Have you eve watched CNN? It is now propaganda, and is unrecognizable from just 10 years ago. Another thing I have seen which I have not seen before is the large number of people who will not even discuss issues with you. If you merely question things you seen as "other" and need to be de friended, shunned or avoided. I am getting the sense that these people are in some kind of cult, where you do not questions, you distance yourself for others not like you, and believe frantically.

Some of this does appear at the labs, I have seen friends for years with Ph.Ds and outstanding scientific records, where one says the other is deplorable, idiot and evil. I have tried to talk these people and say "how is this guy and idiot or deplorable" he is exactly the same person he always has been. All I get back is that they are horrible people and always have been apparently. Weird stuff.

Aside from the all the hoopla, can a Sandia employee sit at her/his desk and send an e-mail to the entire institution of 16,000 employees? Aren't there e-mail partitions set up after all there years? Come on Sandia, really?

You have a point but I would say that Casey has done a great service to the nation. Sandia is suppose to a top scientific/engineering lab that abides by the standards and rigors expected of these fields which means one must have evidence, facts, numbers, and sound methods. Critical race theory has none of these things. In fact when actual studies with real numbers are done the opposite conclusions are found than those pushed by CRT. This is the case for hiring, police interactions, sentencing, the ability to get loans and so on. There is simply no evidence for any of the assumptions of CRC much less its consequences. If we allow this stuff to pass muster at Sandia than this train of thought could effect everything. Someone could just do shoddy work and say that it is just as good as the CRT stuff that we are forced to accept so if you let that pass than other shoddy work could pass. CRT is not only wrong but poison, it will hurt race relations and actually hurt minorities who buy into it thinking that everyone is out to get them, when this is not the case.

Well I told you this stuff was going to come to to Los Alamos. Apparently there was a protest at the local pond and some Trump supporters where attacked and the police got called. Great

More on the incident at Los Alamos between the protestors and a Trump person.

"here was an incident between a Trump supporter and a couple. He said the woman was arguing with a Trump supporter and her boyfriend punched the Trump supporter in the face. I guess it was that one guy, the Democrats said he was the newly appointed president of the new Mexico civil guard. They said at the beginning of the protest he deman"

Lets get this party started.

Lots of chatter on facebook that this was a peaceful protest at Los Alamos and that the Trump supporters deserved to be attacked. Nice Maybe this can happen every weekend and get worse. No justice no peace in Los Alamos!!!! So we have stuff happing in Sandia and now Los Alamos. Come on Livermore you can do better.

I hate tOsay this, but I think that most employees of Sandia can be coerced into “going along” with critical race theory. I’m noticing a lot of the newer employees are mainly interested in the paycheck and work-life balance, I know employees that have gotten friends and spouses jobs and are very content. Also, at Sandia, the GPA requirement has been eliminated. A lot of people there can’t get a better job, especially in a depressed area like Albuquerque. If nodding your head in a white privilege seminar for a few hours results in more paychecks and benefits, I think most will make that compromise.

"I’m noticing a lot of the newer employees are mainly interested in the paycheck and work-life balance"

Is that a bad thing? That's every other job in the private sector, the exchange of labor for compensation; there certainly isn't anything to suggest that our relationship with the labs are anything more than that. That doesn't mean we're "going along" with anything, critical race theory or otherwise; we're just ignoring something that doesn't matter to our work.

Maybe there's something extra going on at Sandia compared to the other labs, but apart from various diversity seminar invites that get sent from the admins, or the occasional email from upper management, I haven't seen any of the "SJW" stuff leaking into my day-to-day work. It seems to me like people are just blowing all this stuff way out of proportion.

I’m not sure what became of all of this but I’m sure they will sit down with the gentlemen that sent this video and tell him he has choices. One being the door. Also, point out that Sandia Policy is very explicit about using government resources for personal purposes.

He will be paid off handsomely.

Anonymous said...

While it is an apples to oranges comparison, the fellow that ran the porn web site on LLNL computers was shown the door, not prosecuted.

I imagine using the government resources in an inappropriate manner will still suffice for dismissal. I don't believe he will be paid off. The best he could hope for would to continue a career as a thorn in the side ala Hugh DeWitt.

The difference is simply he is on the ethical side of the equation in this event vs a porn site. A wrongful termination suit would be very lucrative.

LLNL has been pushing CRT through an externally contracted set of courses by Blue Ocean Brain.
Although the courses are not mandatory, they are "Strongly suggested" by supervisors.
Discussion on the LLNL Newsline is pretty much what you expect... with SJW mobbing any contrary voices and launching subtle threats.
Thumbs up/down has been removed from the comments section because even though the vocal SJW were hunting those critical of SJW mob mentality, the silent majority of sane people were down-voting the CTW stuff to oblivion. One SJW was demanding that Public Affairs publish a list of all the people who would dare downvote SJW CRT posts.

After Trump's EO, suddenly things became more quiet, and I believe that Blue Ocean Brain's courses are gone... at least for now.

If Trump loses expect to see a lot more of this with names of people no going along with the proper politics being made public and public mobbing being encouraged.
