Mask Mandates

 Mask Mandates

So, what’s each site doing about the new mandates?

Tennessee sites have reinstated mandatory masking.

Los Alamos is going back to mandatory masking.

The better question is now that Biden is saying mandatory vaccines for Federal workers does that mean we will have mandatory vaccines in the labs. We should definitely have this, you get vaccinated or you get fired, simple is that.

ORNL returned to mandated masks on Thursday. Y-12 and Pantex (both operated on the same M&O contract) are going to mandates on Monday. No info on the other DOE entities in Tennessee yet.

Masks, big deal! When is DOE going to mandate vaccines??

CDC recommendations are not "mandates." Each state, or even county or municipality will do what it thinks best.

It is the ultimate irony that something with essentially zero scientific evidence supporting it’s use is, “mandated”, while something with huge, universal benefit is not. The irony is particularly acute within the National Laboratories. Perhaps we should have stayed Scientific Laboratories?

The vaccine mandates are for government and government contractor workers, from what I read. Alternative is testing least once a week. That means all the NNSA and DOE labs.

Testing just once a week? This is offensive, if we have people this stupid at the labs or disloyal enough not to get vaccinated they should be fired they are risking the lives of everyone around them. We had to go though 16 months of a lockdown and it looks like we are going though another lockdown soon, all because of what? This needs to be a wake up call to everyone who keeps going going on about a outdated piece of paper that gave rights to only select groups of people. This nation is nuts. How did we get everything so wrong?

Mandatory huh? Looks like it’s Maximum Telecommuting for me then.

Livermore never was; nee LLL.

Anti-Constitutionalist. Lovely. Why not just leave? The Constitution isn't going anywhere.

10:04 Wants everyone who has not been vaccinated to be fired since they are risking the lives of everyone else.

The vaccines reduce the negative effects should you catch it. It does not prevent you from getting it.

The newest evidence being touted about those who are vaccinated is that they more easily shed the virus, thus in one sense they become asymptomatic super spreaders. If that is indeed the case, you want to get the shot to protect yourself more than the notion you will not infect someone else.

Those who have had the virus will probably shed less than those who are vaccinated so in that sense, they may be less of a hazard to others than if they were vaccinated. But in your scenario, they should be fired because they didn't get the shot.

When you state "outdated piece of paper" it bears to remember that your ability to complain about that paper is guaranteed by that paper. You may believe that our freedoms make this nation nuts, but it's way ahead of whatever is in 2nd place.

The US is far behind many nations, very far behind.

Indeed the idea of US supremacy due to the constitution is wrong and has always been wrong. I would add to the list of many nations that have higher per capital wealth, happiness, freedom, the best places to live.

Qutar
Macao
Brunei
UAE
Kuwait
San Marino
Hong Kong
Sudia Arabia
South Korea

By happiest
All these countries
including
Israel
Austria

As for the freest countries the US is still far behind

Germany
Canda
UK
Aus

As for the top 10 nations to live in the US does not qualify
https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/best-countries-to-live-in

Norway
Switzerland
Australia
Ireland
Germany
Iceland
Sweden
Hong Kong
Singapore
The Netherlands

You will notice that the Scandanavin countries are always in the lead. There is a lesson to be learned .

According to the US News the US is the in the top 10 most racists countries in the world

https://www.usnews.com/news/best-
countries/articles/2021-04-13/us-is-one-of-the-10-worst-countries-for-racial-equality

That seems odd since all the data I find shows the opposite in that the US is certainly in the top 10 least racists countries in the world

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/worldviews/wp/2013/05/15/a-fascinating-map-of-the-worlds-most-and-least-racially-tolerant-countries/

Another point is that most of Western Europe is actually much less tolerant than the United States, which anyone who has spent actual time there would know. Sorry but going on vacation to Paris does not cut it.

What I find fascinating is that the the two magazines come to such opposite conclusions. It does make you think about just what is true in the media.

Yes, the lesson is punitive, regressive, oppressive taxation results in happier people who don't pay them.

At this time Sydney Australia and surrounding area is in a total lockdown. If you aren't shopping for food, you are to stay in your residence. The army (unarmed) has been called out to help local police enforce that lockdown.

Yes indeed, Australia should be on my list for places to live over America.

I have some friends who live in Australia. Whenever they come to visit they make it a point to do major shopping at Costco, to the maximum allowed purchases they are allowed to return to that socialist state.

In fact Australia is great place to live, they are much more progressive than the US, they do not have guns, they have great healthcare, little racism, better eduction, social safety nets and are very tolerant. They will however not simply let Americans move in, they have very strict rules about who they allow in and extremely tight control over their borders, you have to have a very good reason for them to let you in and be a resident. I understand this I would not want a bunch for rando Americans moving in with their extreme intolerance.

Australia is now under the most restrictive lockdowns they have had, a result of trying to get to "zero Covid." New Zealand too. "Zero Covid" is a pipe dream, learn to live with it, vaccine, vaccine, vaccine. Plus precautions when new variants emerge.

Excuse me but are you a medical doctor or scientists who studies epidemics? No I thought so. Maybe you should spend some more time listening to experts rather than fake news.

is that analogous to Americans not wanting a bunch of random Central American COVID infected refugees who are intolerant of the constitution ¿

Completely different. America is legally bound to take in refugees. The refugees are coming to the US for safe haven from problems created in their home nations by over 80 years of influence from the US. Remember the cold war and all the dictators the US put in? Also the idea that these refugees are "infected" with COVID is fake news. As for being "intolerant" of the constitution I find that rich coming from people who supported a violent coup attempt of our nation. You have no business commenting on a another group being intolerant of the constitution when you people would burn it down, get rid of democracy and put in a dictator. I and many others are saying that we need as many immigrants from a Central America as possible since they will not be pushing for insurrection. It is one of the only ways we can protect ourselves from people from the insurrectionists.

A "refugee" is not just anyone who crosses the border. It is a state that is adjudicated by US law, based on presented evidence. No one just gets to claim refugee status just by showing up in our country.

Good luck with your experiment in social utopia and fear-based approach to life.

All this negative talk would lead you to believe that migrants would be pouring out of the US yet it is quite the opposite. More than double the next country in terms of people coming to the US. Makes you wonder if maybe, just maybe, the criteria for these studies, objective or subjective, was specifically chosen to get to a specific conclusion or what these studies are missing. The migration data lays this bare.
