Vote For Your Favorite GM Replacement

Who (real and living) would you recommend to the infamous LLNS Board of Governors to replace George as Director?

Btw, has any other LLNL employee noticed that the LLNS Board has changed considerably since Oct and without much fanfare? UC use to have one more member than Bechtel, now its even;

Chair Norman J. Pattiz (UC)
Vice Chair J. Scott Ogilvie (Bechtel)
Bruce Darling (UC)
William Frazer (UC)
Tom Hash (Bechtel)
Preston Rahe (URS-WGI)
Craig Weaver (Bechtel)
Steven Beckwith (UC)
David Walker (Bechtel)
Jeffrey Wadsworth (Battelle)

One thing is for sure. We don't need nor do we want anyone that was or is an LLNL employee or one that came up through the ranks of the Good Old Boy system. We need fresh blood with new ideas and someone who has never been affiliated with WEAPONS or LASERS what so ever. We need an entirely new mission.

I am all for someone that has nothing to do with LLNS, Bechtel, UC, Batelle etc.. Someone new who can run an enterprise!

Give it another year or so and Bechtel will get the majority on the board.
As to suggestions for replacing George:

Darth Sidious - A fellow that could keep a leash on Moses.

Hazel O'Leary - My favorite DOE Secretary, she would feel our pain.

Benedict Arnold - It seems appropriate.

Admiral Nanos - UC is already paying for him, bring him in and let the final destruction begin. He did a bang up job at LANL

And finally -

Mel Blanc, I could really use a laugh and Elmer Fudd would fit in nicely.

I'll take the Straight Shooter. I dislike the wimpy politically correct tap-dancing politicians we currently have at LLNL / LLNS. Management at LLNL now days are just puppets of NNSA doing a job one single consultant could have done for 1/10 the price in half the time. LLNL needed one good man and there weren't any to be found so they hired 40+ managers to do the same job. Now there's cost savings if I ever saw it.

Sorry George! I will have to pick someone outside of your circle.
You failed miserably in protecting LLNL and its employees, you served as the instrument of destruction of LLNL, you sold yourself to the highest paying employer.
I get sick when I hear you say we are your extended family. Yes, change is good but it has to be the right thing to do, not just what NNSA says it is the thing to do!

In honor of Lewis Black's skit - I strongly suggest Ed Teller.

1. No would complain that he's not doing anything - he's dead after all.

2. The PR machine would still be free to make up whatever they want us to think he said.

3. Even dead he scares the willies out of congress, DOE/NNSA and other countries.
