Invitation to SPSE to post a status!

In December, I emailed SPSE inviting them to post some update on what they are doing these days. I have not heard back. So, I would like to renew that invitation!SPSE: please let us know even if nothing is going on. Apparently, you still have quite a few members and you owe them an update!
Thanks!

Tx for the request for SPSE to post.
I've also been wondering what they are doing since I'm a paying member, but maybe not for much longer!

Post a status? How about Asking them to post a refund. SPSE members are just tossing their money away.

The SPSE web page for LANL hasn't even been updated since 2006. SPSE has become a dead organization as far as I can tell.

It's time to hit the reset button and find something better. Scientists over at JPL seem to be well supported by their union:

Scientists sue NASA, Caltech over deep new background checks - AP Aug 30, 2007

PASADENA, California: Jet Propulsion Laboratory scientists and engineers sued NASA and the California Institute of Technology on Thursday, challenging extensive new background checks that the space exploration center and other federal agencies began requiring in the wake of the Sept. 11 terror attacks.

I encourage any member who's curious about the status of SPSE-UPTE to come to the general membership meeting next week. That way we can at least address your questions. In summary, SPSE is doing a miniature version of what LLNL is doing: reconfiguring itself to operate in the private sector.
We now operate under a completely different set of laws, and adjusting to this is not automatic. Despite collecting dues, SPSE is a member-run union, and there are a handful of members doing all the work. We're grateful to everyone who sends us good ideas, but what we really need now is a few interested members to get involved and act on them. In my opinion SPSE has succeeded best when a member with a passion for something gets involved, gets help, and gets it accomplished. As for status, you will see another Sentinel sometime soon. I know because I'm editing the thing. Sure, the web page needs updating. If this bothers you, then stop complaining and volunteer to help with it. JW

Volunteers? Going once, going twice, opps, not sold. It's back to being all alone and without help.

This is no different than our election process. Don't vote, you have nothing to say about what occurs. Protest and expel the trash from the Washington DC or any position deemed corrupt and you'll see change. The problem is, everyone says they don't have time and there's no use. Life is to short for me to bother. So what's next?
