Shabby blog

This blog is looking pretty shabby. The current moderator apparently has no idea how to control the font size of what he posts. Makes for an embarrassingly amateur look. Pretty sad for a blog associated with a premier scientific institution

I agree with you Mr professional. This blog looks shabby. It is maintained on a strictly volunteer basis with no desire to beautify it. At this point, what you can do is one of four things:
1. Become a co-moderator. And help the blog get out of is shabbiness.
2. Start your own professional looking blog.
3. Stop visiting the blog
4. Keep visiting and focus on content.
When es the last time you had 4 options eh?
Supportively,
Scooby, Julian, whatever...

The ability to take valid criticism maturely is greatly valued by most people.

Foolish. Most people hate critics and often strive to do them harm. Only the foolish blather widely and2 unwisely. Adults shut up and work. And mind their own business.

Hope you accept this helpful mild rebuke in the generous, helpful spirit of growth and improvement in which it is offered.

This Blog is a reflection of current attitude at the Labs with re-bids handing over their heads, particularly at LANL. It's just the status quo at the Labs, especially the so-called leadership at the Labs, via Maytag repair men, asleep and with their feet on the desk. Everyone is waiting for the next "train" to come in. No leadership!

FYI. I am not associated with any Lab. The blog reflects lab employees'morale and attitude. It has been mostly low and negative.

So I guess telling people how they should behave is your business?

...or reading comprehension is not your core competence. Re-read it slowly. The meaning chances from "telling" to motivating a choice.

Scooby...you've kept this forum up and available for a good many years now. On your own time, of your own volition. I for one appreciate it as is, and thank you for putting in exactly as much effort as you deem appropriate.

History has shown what happens to people that simply shut, work and mind their business.

So if he thinks absolutely no effort is appropriate (close to that now), you'll thank him for that too? How about "accept a responsibility only if you intend to carry it out"?

Yes.

How about "accept a responsibility only if you intend to carry it out"?
How about "don't look a gift horse in the mouth?"

Something shabby and not well "put together" is rarely an appreciated gift. How about "costs more than it's worth"?
