Who else can he blame?

trump is blaming lowered standards and DEI in air traffic control as contributing to last night's accident:

The blame game ! He and his followers are convinced that the only way he can fail is because of someone else's fault. What is more disturbing is there are intelligent lab employees who fall for that!

2:38 -- accidents such as this often have many contributing factors, Trump could be partially correct but also see this video

https://youtu.be/h4cJtMVNqZY?si=ReXY0rhFQmI4eOWS

That is, to the extent government is to blame that can perhaps be traced back to members of both political parties.

He did not blame DEI on this crash, he said it could have played a factor and there has been plenty of concern about this in many different fields. I think it is dishonest to say Trump is blaming DEI for this crash, is only pointing out it is possible in this particular case. Again another inaccurate MSM headline.

We went through 4 years of this nonsense already. The MSM is not going to give you an accurate story. I already read a story today that "Trump makes shocking joke at press conference!" However if watch the actual presser this is clearly not the case. Again I am telling you unless you see the press conference itself, you have no way to know what he actually said. So far 10 days in and we have to whoppers.

If you do not like Trump that is fine, he has plenty of policies you can choose but you should know every time you repeat an MSM news misinformation about him it just make the right want to support him more. There are enough people who have figured out that the MSM is full of it, and when you bring up some stupid headline, the right wing is just going do dismiss you utterly misinformed and they have a real point. It is up to you but this rage against Trump thing is not working, you are not converting anyone.

9:11 -- it could be that as a whole we need to have more air traffic controllers and also pay more, to attract the best. There is an argument that aviation in general is a large segment of our economy, the money used to pay air traffic controllers is a tiny part of that, and it is a weak link in the overall system:

https://www.bls.gov/oes/current/oes532021.htm
https://www.faa.gov/2024-economic-impact-report

For example, this shows 22000 air traffic controllers at a mean annual wave of 137K or $3B in air controller pay, and argues 9M jobs or 1.8T in economic output related to aviation, i.e. only about 0.2% consists of actual money paid to air traffic controllers.

This has been an issue for some time. The FAA has been pushed to change standards for a more diverse workforce since 2014 and the number of near misses has increased by 60% while the traffic only by 4%
.
https://www.newsweek.com/trump-faa-diversity-hiring-airport-collision-disability-2023996

The policy of actively recruiting people with "severe" disabilities has also existed for more than a decade.

The list of disabilities mentioned in the January 2024 Fox News article and read by Trump on Thursday includes "hearing, vision, missing extremities, partial paralysis, complete paralysis, epilepsy, severe intellectual disability, psychiatric disability, and dwarfism."

The Obama administration forces the Federal Aviation Administration to move away from merit-based hiring criteria.

When a plane starts its final descent, are the passengers more concerned about the competence or about the skin color of the air-traffic controllers on the ground who will help the pilot land safely? The answer may be obvious to readers, if not to the Obama administration.

I personally dislike Trump, and you can call this whataboutism, but what you describe here is exactly the Democratic Party as well. He who is without sin cast the first stone…

9:03 -- I think you're missing the point. It would not involve that much money to have more air traffic controllers on duty, or improve pay and working conditions to attract more and better applicants. $3B if divided between various sectors such as commercial passenger, cargo, general aviation is not much. We could double this spending by adding a few dollars to every plane ticket and taxing the other sectors appropriately, and the improvement in safety would be huge.

Excuse me, there are plenty of stupid word salads that come out of his mouth every time he is in front of a camera for all to see but unfortunately the MAGA news outlets never show that.

Nope, read the news stories. Also look up the class action lawsuit involving highly qualified ATC applications. There are plenty of qualified people for these jobs but it is about enforcing diversity

8:16 -- I agree with you, this is one area where past policies and procedures, could have been a contributing factor. For this particular accident in DC, there still is not a complete agreed on understanding of what happened.

I was pointing out that going forward it would make sense to have more air traffic controllers, and improve their pay and working conditions. This would hold true regardless of what happened in the past, regardless of what caused the DC accident, and also regardless of any diversity or lack thereof.

The white MAGA will fight DEI no matter what. Instead of seeing DEI has an enabler,
they are afraid it will make the white race too diverse (too brown).
The brown and black MAGAs make it hard to fight the white MAGAs.
Somehow the brown and black MAGAs that they are the target of white MAGA!

This is a standard talking point all over the usual MSM, Facebook, NPR and so on.

Everything you said is false and is easily checked if you looked at who voted for Trump in the last election. I take you have never interacted with a person of color, and your opinion comes right out a MSBC or your Facebook echo chamber. This is exactly why you lost, you are just totally out of touch. Before you respond look the demographics who voted for Trump and compare it to previous republicans.

What is so amazing is I assume you live in California, which has had a long standing hispanic population for since the beginning, you are now talking many multiple generations of people. What do you think they make of illegal immigration from Mexico and Central America? Think about that. Which groups do think hurt illegal immigration the most? I know you will say "I heard in NPR that it is white angry undedicated truck driving males" Ok let make this clear, they are lying or have no idea what they are talking about. MSM is not your friend, they have no interest in telling the truth.
If you want to win you need to drop this racial nonsense, it is much more complicated than your echo chamber talking point.

He DID blame DEI. There is no ambiguity there. He even doubled down when a journalist asked him how he came to the conclusion it is DEI. He said "I have common sense". May as well replace that statement with "because I am a racist bigot". Wake up and see the fascism that is in front of your face before we lose our country to Elon Musk.

It's not talking points.
This is my opinion.
White MAGAs hate DEI because it threatens the whiteness and exclusivity of
white America. What amazes me are the brown and black MAGAs who support that. Racism is not new in this country. It has toned down in the 60s. Thanks to the civil rights movement. It has reared it ugly head with the MAGA cult leader in 2016. It is now worse . Denying racism is ignoring our history.
The MAGA hangover will be very severe! Go ahead continue believing your criminal ,lying and mentally ill MAGA leader!

3:06 -- there could be racism, but humans actually don't consist of distinct races at all in relation to skin color. Sunlight creates vitamin D but also destroys the nutrient folate, which selected for darker skin in population groups with ancestry from near the equator to maximize fitness. There are other factors as well, of course:

https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC5986434/

This is similar to adaptation to altitude, for example in Tibetans and certain South American peoples who live at high altitude. Over thousands of years traits have been selected for which are advantageous to that environment:

This has got to be troll, there is no way this is real.

Much of what is said above is irrelevant. Our history shows that and remember the implications of not remembering history. I am 8% Black with some Native American according to my DNA. I did not know this until recently and I appear completely White. In the early 1900s several states passed racial purity laws and to enforce them they passed laws defining White and Nonwhite. These laws were in effect and enforced until a Supreme Court decision in the early 1960s. A mixed couple visited Virginia, were arrested, and jailed, prompting the case. Up until then it was illegal for my wife and I to be married according to these laws. The laws defining nonwhite were called single drop laws with the first in Tennessee, soon after Louisana, Virginia in the 1920s. If you had any ancestor that was nonwhite, you were nonwhite. Virginia had a database that was being actively filled. The Nazis visited Virginia to study how they were doing this. Today, if you have a nonzero percent of nonwhite DNA, you would be classified as nonwhite, with relevance restrictions applied. It is really not about race, it is about White and Nonwhite.
