Energy official in denial
Wow, Podonsky must be suffering from
memory loss. The good old days were not as good as he seems to recall.
Study after study, panel after panel, report after report, all conclude
that there is not much hope to fix NNSA under Energy. Unless Congress is
willing to move it to Defense, where it has a legitimate home, the
current broken situation will remain, even if it has a modified place on
the org chart.

Safety, security, assurance, quality and administrative officials are second-rate talent in less important positions that talented can't be recruited to fill. The self-aware know it and keep their place, others don't.
Until they speak out. Then someone has to suggest that it is better if the talented take care of the hard stuff.
