The article refers to the warning letters DOE sent out in March. This article is not dated it could have been written in March.
Yup, sequestration or failure to sign off on another continuing resolution could lead to layoffs (or furloughs). Yes indeed, breaking news.
It's beginning to look more and more likely that sequestration will continue all through this next fiscal year of 2014. Hagel at the DoD recently said that he plans on laying off around 1 million civilian defense contractors if this happens as he simply won't have the money for their positions.
It's about to get very ugly if your job depends on the federal government.
Yeah, this is really old news.
Pretty much meaningless.

I'd say they need to drop the hammer before Dec 25th 2013 and get-r-done and when they cut they should cut 20% more than they need cause next year is going to be the same thing as well as many years afterwards.
If sequestration continues through 2014, then no jobs at the NNSA labs (except for managers, of course) will be safe.
As of now, it appears that sequestration will continue during the next fiscal year.
