The LANL cultural problem is starting to seep to other agencies!

Meanwhile, "Hundreds of badges, credentials, cell phones and guns belonging to the Department of Homeland Security employees have been lost or stolen in recent years -- raising serious security concerns about the potential damage these missing items could do in the wrong hands.

Inventory reports, obtained by the news site Complete Colorado show that over 1,300 badges, 165 firearms and 589 cell phones were lost or stolen over the span of 31 months between 2012 and 2015."

165 firearms...not credible.

I agree the number is way to low, I would have also guessed it was in the thousands knowing DHS.

Really! I guess the other national labs never loose cell phones or other items, and that it is a LANL problem.

In case you have not been paying attention to the media, there are no other national labs there only LANL. When something goes wrong at LANL there is no other lab to compare it to. Perception is reality.

Yep, and poverty is wealth, ignorance is genius, paralysis is motion, fear is bravery, cold is heat, and on and on... At least, that's what I perceive.

Just don't expect your perception to be somebody else's reality.

Tell that to the people that got laid off at LLNL. Remember it was the out control cowboy scientists at LANL that caused the problems. Perception is reality, Kim Kardishain is relevant and you are not. Scientists at LANL are arrogant but at least they exist you do not. End of discussion.

End of discussion.

Excuse me but are you married to Kanye? No so your perceptions are irrelevant time for you to go back sleep.

Let me get this straight. "Perception is reality." But "your perceptions are irrelevant." So only YOUR perceptions determine what is reality? OK, I get it now. You are insane. Thanks for posting.

No, you fool, the media's perception and hence the public perception might as well be as good as reality. The media for the most part only reports on LANL so the perception of the public is that there is only one lab which is LANL. Just look at the blog every week someone comes in and talks about stolen Mustangs, cowboys, arrogance and so on, it gets pointed out that these things never happened yet next week they or someone else are back with the same stuff so "reality" does not matter only perception. There was even the Shawn Carpenter cyber security case at Sandia and Congress members kept referring to this as a case at Los Alamos. Now look at any major news site and it will have some story about Kim Kardashian, Tom Brady, or whoever, is it the "reality" that these people are relevant or only the perception? In the end perception wins and if you do not believe me look at the current state of the labs and their complete and utter decline. Perception caused that not reality yet the result was the same.

Maybe we can get the media (and our adversaries) to perceive that our nuclear weapons will work when we want them to, but not otherwise. Then we can all relax and take a snooze.

We take them for granted now. Of course they will work, just watch the movie The Core, they worked!

Do you really think anyone actually asks that question anymore?

Zzzzzzz (wake me when it's over)

February 2, 2016 at 5:38 PM

So wake me up when it's all over
When I'm wiser and I'm older
All this time I was finding myself
And I didn't know I was lost

Didn't know I was lost
I didn't know I was lost
I didn't know I was lost
I didn't know (didn't know, didn't know)
And now all our lives are over
We have no idea what happened.
