This could be TCP1 in a few years

For all those that say it could never happen, you may want to rethink the situation after reading the most recent cuts to pension plans. Just because you paid into it your whole career does not guarantee that it will pay you a full benefit pension all your retirement.

The annual TCP1 funding letter from LANS shows that the amount of funding has fallen over the last three years in a row. It's now down to about 105% of sufficient funding. I suspect it is falling as more highly paid staff leave LANL for retirement on the TCP1 pension. I have to wonder if it will fall below 100% in funding over this next year with the contract transition and even more staff deciding to call it quits and retire.
