Visit to shoe store........
I was shopping for a pair of steel toe work boots at a local shoe store and the clerk asked if i worked @ S R S ? I replied no ,why do you ask ? She told me a couple Savannah River Nuclear Solutions employees were in earlier and joking about the next round of lay offs. She asked if they were worried and they replied ...worried about what ? They went on to explain that both would receive over 2500.00 dollars each a month pension with health insurance. She said she asked what they did at Savannah River Nuclear Solutions and they replied...We read about 8 newspapers daily and joked they had done no physical work in 25 years. I could tell she was upset and aggravated as she brought me boots to try on. I later thanked her for her assistance and paid for my boots and she smiled as if to acknowledge that she and i were in the same boat.......working and thankful for what we have. These two men and others like them boasting and gloating about gorging themselves at the government trough give employees that actually work for the government a bad rap. Happy Labor Day to all and thumbs up if you love the U.S.A.
