Freedom for "Excluded" Workers at LANS
Today is the first day
(1/7/13) that "excluded" workers at LANS were eligible to apply for
other jobs. We had been prohibited for doing so for 1-year since the
last VRIP. Note also that LANS did a great job during the past year to
ensure that we will remain in these "crappy" jobs (e.g. Facility
Engineers) into the future, since there are virtually no open job
advertisements for Regular Employees at LANL. I'm also posting this to
give folks at LLNL and SNL a heads-up on what is coming your way. Hecka
of job LANS leading the way, hecka of job!

You got a mop?
You got a bucket?
You got a Top Secret clearance?
You got a MS in nuclear engineering?
Get to work and start cleaning the floors. That just about sums up this bleak situation.
I was hoping LLNL would offer a VSIP with a 3 & 3 and drop the population of the lab by 50% leaving the jobs to the young who need them for another 30-50 years since they will not have a retirement plan of any sort. What is wrong with all these people at the top that get paid big bucks to make decissions. I could do this in my sleep, one arm behind my back and in a micro-second. Gee
The whole reason that LANS had to force workers into "crappy" facility jobs is to work for the absolutely BRUTAL and SADISTIC Facility Operations Directors (FODs) that LANS Upper Management have installed, such as Hugh McGovern at WETF and Steve Henry at Waste programs, both Navy "pukes"! These guys might be making some things happen at these facilities, but they are rolling out workers in body-bags and in straight-jackets. Go for it LANS!
Navy "ring-knockers" have infiltrated large areas of upper management at LANL. They work to elevate their own people while treating the rest of the long time staff very poorly. Many of these new managers come into the lab via the wide-open "Bechtel Doorway". What a scam!

LANS has no problem with this model, it's another effective way of eliminating the staff, whether they are in rubber bags with a zipper or canvas with a leather belt on it.
