Opinion on Obama

I love how Obama has this morally self-righteous high-ground, holier than thou persona, and criticizes Trump for wanting to suppress climate change science, but then he secretly manipulates scientists in just the same slime ball manner. What a joke. So glad to see him out of the WH.

HE served his purpose. And his 8 year presence in the White House expiated, once and for all, and lingering guilt or doubt I moght have otherwise carried due to some incoherent effulvia over privildge.

Anybody can emerge into a position of leadership. The next election shows even nutz and liars have a shot. No more guilt for me.

I threw up a little reading the opening sentences of that article, and stopped reading so I could keep my breakfast down. NY Times is a partisan liberal mouthpiece masquerading as a newspaper, and it's not worth reading any more.

I agree the beginning of that article is quite nauseating. However, if you manage to muscle your way past the gag reflex and read on, you will see that the first couple of paragraphs are there just to get the op-ed published in NYT. The rest of the piece is actually pretty damning and clearly contradicts the premise of a "a thoughtful and dignified" president. What emerges is a portrait of a self-absorbed leader interested only in imposing his "multicultural" agenda and either unable to understand the real problems of the country, or uninterested in addressing them.

Quotes:
"His legacy regrettably includes the more than 1,000 Democrats who lost their elections during his two terms. Republicans now have total control in half of America’s states."

"the president believed the country’s main challenges were unrealized opportunity for a newly ascendant, multicultural America, rather than the continuing economic struggle experienced by a majority of Americans."

"On the eve of the 2016 election, the president used the refrain: “We’ve seen America turn recession into recovery” and 15.5 million new jobs. Pointedly, he said, “Incomes are rising. Poverty is falling.”
The public’s reaction was stark from the beginning. "

The New York Times can't bring themselves to admit that they, along with the rest of the liberal press, have earned the distrust of a majority of voters and, consequently, the liberal press no longer holds much influence. The NYT might want to blame the Democrat's collapse on Obama, but the NYTs and their ilk holds much of the blame themselves. The liberal media earned this distrust by publishing partial information, misleading information, and sometimes even outright lies.

Look at this one story. The Republicans have total control in half the states doesn't sound so bad for the Democrats. Maybe the Dems have the other half? Nope. The whole story is Republicans have total or partial control in all but six states. The Dems have only 6 states left. Not only that, but you have to look hard to find blue districts outside these last 6 Democrat states. The whole story paints a much clearer picture, doesn't it?

A second example from this same article. The NYT claims that incomes are rising under Obama. What the NYT didn't say is incomes rose much more dramatically during the Bush Administration. Every single year during the Bush era, the average family took home more income after taxes than the year before. Incomes actually DROPPED during much of Obama's tenure. "Dropped" isn't a full description, "crashed" is more like the truth. Incomes have only recently risen, but they're only rising from the Obama low and much of this income recovery took place after America voted to toss the Democrats out of Congress.

At Harvard law, Obama learned how to imitate the look of a thoughtful person. However, his judgment is very poor, as is his decision-making ability, and that even Harvard could not fix. He was elected for having a smart person's appearance and manners -- and as an ultimate case of affirmative action -- but after 8 years it's clear that he's fundamentally incompetent, outside of "community organizing". Combine this with an outsized ego and you have a recipe for a failed leader.

Want the latest proof of incompetent judgment combined with an outsized ego? Check out today's CNN article, http://www.cnn.com/2016/12/26/politics/axe-files-president-obama/index.html
The title is: "Obama's exit interview: I could've won again". The opening sentence say it all: "Arguing that Americans still subscribe to his vision of progressive change, President Barack Obama asserted in an interview recently he could have succeeded in this year's election if he was eligible to run." This is just delusional.

And, in a fine example of "impartiality" of the mainstream media, the interviewer is none other than David Axelrod.

I have the most respect and admiration for President Obama, and none for Trump. If it were possible I'd vote for Obama for a third term over Trump. And if the latest public opinion polls are any indication he'd win...

Oh, I approve of Obama too. He turned out to be the biggest asset to the Republican Party! A thousand Democrats lost their elections thanks to him.

Anonymous said...

Wow. Obama ceded the White House and both houses of Congress to the Republican Party for the first time in almost 100 years and he still thinks that his way is what the American people want? Denial is a wonderful thing.

Never thought I would feel sorry for Hillary, but what he is doing to her now, blaming her for losing the election, is just repugnant. Her and all those Democratic candidates for US Congress. And all those Democrats who lost in countless state elections. He's just a brilliant general put in charge of this horrible army, right? What a delusional egomaniac.

It's not just the US. The UK turned right first, with Brexit and the conservatives taking over. The US was next, not just with Trump but with the entire national political landscape. France is probably next, and Merkel's days are numbered in Germany, which would lead to the rest of the EU turning to the right. Yet the Obamacrats are still convinced that this is just a passing phase. It's complete delusional denial.

56% are afraid of being called "racists". You might wonder how these same people would answer if they could vote anonymously. Would they still be primarily concerned with giving a politically correct answer, or would they actually vote their pocketbook? Oh wait, we already know that answer since November 8.

December 26, 2016 at 1:12 PM was the only person who brought any real FACTS to this discussion. The rest of you knuckleheads can't stand the FACT that a black man, and an intelligent black man won the presidency not once, but twice. The dying gasps of racism and white privilege.

Hope you enjoy getting massively screwed under president Trump(POTUS-of-the-bad-combover).

4:15 PM must not have got the memo. Calling good Americans "racists" and "deplorables" didn't work. That strategy was so offensive one of the worst candidates ever to run for President TROUNCED the phony non-racist Demmy. The strategy was so repugnant Dimocrats got trounced in elections across all levels in Government.

It's an convenient world that you live in, 4:15 pm. Only assertions that support your point of view are called "facts". Everything else is summarily classified as "the dying gasps of racism and white privilege", at which point there is no need to analyze the information any further.

Meanwhile, there are some thoughtful observations in this thread. When polled, Americans say they approve of Obama, yet when they vote they elect people who will erase his legacy. What's going on here? The answer of 10:54 pm is that when people publicly express disapproval of Obama's policies they are immediately attacted as racists. So when they are polled by phone they feel intimidated to state their reservations. That's also why Hillary was "polling" ahead of Donald by double digits. Remember that? Bottom line is election results are definitely Solid Facts, much more so that polls. Ignore at your own risk.

Another good point made here is that there is an important difference between looking thoughtful and having good judgment. For a community organizer or a motivational speaker, appearances and manners are the most important characteristics, but for a US president it is judgment and competence that fundamentally matter. When Obama instructed the Justice Department to go after police departments across the country, the police pulled back, lest they be accused of "bigotry" and "racism". As a result, gang violence exploded and thousands of blacks were killed. In Chicago alone, there have been nearly 800 homicides this year, with victims overwhelmingly black and poor. When Obama pronounced ISIS a "JV team" and derived Romney for identifying Russia as America's number one political foe, he let the events in Syria and across the Middle East spiral out of control. Hundreds of thousands were slaughtered, while millions were displaced. People die when a US president fails to understand what's going on.

Time will tell what kind of judgment Trump will have as president, but for Obama we already have 8 years of data and the results are conclusively dismal. Back to community organizing, before even more harm is done.

If you see any combination of the following key words: "white privilege", "white male bigotry", "racists", "fascists", "xenophobes", "prejudice", "disenfranchised communities", and on and on, save your breath. It's going to be impossible to reason with these people. They have been completely lobotomized during their college years by their liberal professors, leading to the complete loss of their ability to critically analyze their own ideas. All answers will be regurgitated slogans.

Yes, those are my warning signs also. Should include "misogynist".

Obama started off as a smart Gay dude. Fooled everyone, including the Chicago Democrats, faked his Honolulu birth certificate (or at least what the WH posted online is a fake). Faked the voters, faked the Nobel committee and is now pissed off that Trump and Putin have "cleaned his clock". So sad for Clinton, Podesta, DNC, Donna Brazil, and the rest of the East/West Coast elites.

This is the Obama legacy that will be written down and studied by the next three generations of history/political science students.

Even Obama's step brother from Kenya (a naturalized US citizen) voted for Trump ! He wasn't fooled ! Sad.

You are so pathetic, are you saying one should not go to college? That is crazy, as education is the key to safe, fair, and just future for all, not just cis white, straight, Christian males. The election result is the last grasp to hold on to power and enjoy the ability to subjugate marginalized groups. We cannot allow this to be normalized, this is not normal. Having fascists in the white house is not normal, does anyone realize this? This is not about "slogans" this is a matter of life and death, just being in America is now triggering. We where making so much progress, American never was great but we where getting better and now we threw it all away, all of it. I and many others keep asking ourselves how it went so wrong, we already knew about the underbelly of white male American hatred but somehow we thought there would be a shred of dignity even to these people, but we got it wrong. We have learned from our mistakes, we will not underestimate just how vile and inhuman these haters are. We knew they were bad but we just could not admit how just how bad and now in a single election they have completely destroyed 200 years of progress, 200 years of rights, 200 years of hope. God (or higher inclusive spiritual being) help us.

Poe's law is an Internet adage that states that, without a clear indicator of the author's intent, it is impossible to create a parody of extreme views so obviously exaggerated that it cannot be mistaken by some readers or viewers as a sincere expression of the parodied views.

I think you just defined "fake news" (parody of extreme views). The staple of the New York Times, Washington Post, Huffington Post (most definitely crap), CBS, NBC, ABC,... Sad that the only news organizations that have more than 50% believability are Fox and RT America. I don't even trust National Public Broadcasting anymore.

Fake News:
1.) Russia/Putin hacked the election causing Hillary's loss (really ?)
2.) Clinton's personal State Dept server with Classified on it was never hacked (really ?) so she shouldn't go to jail. FBI Director James Comey said so.
3.) Podesta is a Satanist. He enjoys "spirit cooking". Maybe true on this one.
4.) Don't eat the pizza in Washington DC (look for the Pedophilia symbols first).
5.) Obama could have won a third term (not likely, even his half-brother voted for Trump).
6.) Jill Stein's recount will overturn the election (actually Trump gained votes)
7.) Huma's ex-Anthony Weiner lost the election for Hillary (really ?)
8.) Illegals did not submit absentee or ballots by mail votes for Hillary in CA, Arizona, Nevada and Colorado.

7:53 pm: "The underbelly of white male hatred"? There you go again.

By the way, we have not had a competent Commander-in-chief in 16 years. Look what happened to the world as a result. Trump may likewise prove not up to the task, but the bar has been set really low.

55% of college undergraduate students are women. There is no white male privilege regarding college attendance.

7:53 PM, you're on the wrong side of the facts. You're just exposing yourself as another ignorant liberal.

9) Democrats will convince Electors to switch to Hilliar (more switched away from Hilliar than switched away from Trump).

10) Brian Williams of NBC was on a helicopter that got shot down in Iraq (too bad there was film proving otherwise).

11) Obama created 15.5 million jobs (Obama LOST 3 million jobs when he had a Dem Congress, every single job created happened AFTER the Republicans took back the house).
