    Secret CIA assessment says Russia was trying to help Trump win White House

    The CIA has concluded in a secret assessment that Russia intervened in the 2016 election to help Donald Trump win the presidency, rather than just to undermine confidence in the U.S. electoral system, according to officials briefed on the matter.

    Intelligence agencies have identified individuals with connections to the Russian government who provided WikiLeaks with thousands of hacked emails from the Democratic National Committee and others, including Hillary Clinton’s campaign chairman, according to U.S. officials. Those officials described the individuals as actors known to the intelligence community and part of a wider Russian operation to boost Trump and hurt Clinton’s chances.

    “It is the assessment of the intelligence community that Russia’s goal here was to favor one candidate over the other, to help Trump get elected,” said a senior U.S. official briefed on an intelligence presentation made to U.S. senators. “That’s the consensus view.”

    This is just John Brennan getting back at Trump.
    Trump just laughed this off, as he should.
    They days of the IC manupulating our leaders is over. These departments are now going to run by generals who have no patience for this nonsense. Intelligence is something to be used by the war fighter, not a means to allow the IC to control and manipulate our leaders and institutions, including the media.

  4. Hayden, who is an idiot, was Air Force intelligence. Also not an Academy Graduate. Went to a second rate school in PA with ROTC. The new director Pompeo is a West Point Grad who served in the cavalry. Don't confuse IC people with military rank with actual soldiers.

Strange that Clinton and Podesta did not refute one item from the 30-odd Chapters of WikiLeaks from the leaked DNC and Podesta emails. Not one refutation !

Citizens looked at the WikiLeaks documents concluded that the Clintons (Bill and Hillary, but not Chelsea) are the most corrupt politicians in American history. They sold us out to the Russians !

Yes that cost her some votes !

Tri-Valley Cares needs to be on this if they aren't already. We need to make sure that NNSA and LLNL does not make good on promises to pursue such stupid ideas as doing Plutonium experiments on NIF. Trump is to gut the labs.

The budget has a 20% decrease to DOE office of science, 20% cut to NIH. NASA also gets a cut. This will  have a huge negative effect on the lab. Crazy, juts crazy. He also wants to cut NEA and PBS, this may not seem like  a big deal but they get very little money and do great things.

LLNL un-diversity

Actual post from Dec. 15 from one of the streams. This is a real topic. As far as promoting women and minorities even if their qualifications are not as good as the white male scientists, I am all for it. We need diversity at the lab and if that is what it takes, so be it.  Quit your whining. Look around the lab, what do you see? White male geezers. How many African Americans do you see at the lab? Virtually none. LLNL is one of the MOST undiverse places you will see. Face it folks, LLNL is an institution of white male privilege and they don't want to give up their privileged positions. California, a state of majority Hispanics has the "crown jewel" LLNL nestled in the middle of it with very FEW Hispanics at all!
