As GM said last October "From this point forward it is all about the money"

So, we know the Lab will RIF 535 career people in a month. My question is this: How many of our top S&E's, who presumably are safe from the RIF, are looking outside for other opportunities? Morale is just terrible already, I can't imagine what it will be like after the axe falls.
I know that in my group at least 2 or 3 of our top people are seriously looking.

In NIF most of us are exempt until Sept of this year or the end of the ISP as Wong has stated in his presentation, but in the meantime anyone can be transfered out of NIF in a seconds notice, with no place to go except the EBA list were you'll find yourelf out of luck. If this happens ex-nif employee are also exempt from getting any pay and because of that exemption some of us have missed the VSSOP buy-out. In reality some of us will be able to hold on, but most live from hour to hour wondering when EM is going to punch their number. The group leaders are tasked with telling each employee his or her time has expired. I'll bet that a wonder job. It pretty sad but now days when someone ask me in the hallway how I'm doing I say, "gainfully employed, for this moment in time, although things may change at any time". When quieting time comes I'm grateful to have made it another day. Sad hah? We sure have come a long ways. As an institution we've been going down hill since the LLNS take over in 2007 and from all I hear we are years away from the roller coaster ride coming to an end.
