What a complete waste of time. Lets talk about about UFO theory instead. Now that has value.

I have over 20 years at LLNL and I worry. I know it took 20 boxes to move my stuff the last time I moved offices. I for one will be taking home everything personal over the next two weeks. When the dreaded day comes, I don't want to be caught with my pants down.
I get sick at heart looking at others in my group that are the future - they have great skills and abilities and yet are so vulnerable. When they are gone, how can I honor them, celebrate there contributions - let them know how much their support and friendship meant to us. How do we pick up the pieces and move on. How can the lab succeed when so many human assets are lost? No one wants to talk about how to make things work and worthwhile in the future.
I just don't see how ULM can expect to earn their management fee with all the damage they have done to the lab and it's lifeblood.

How's morale where you are?

Bad with virtually no hope. That is never going to change

Is your supervisor helpful now or is s/he useless?

I have a great boss who also feel uneasy and knows his number can be pulled at any time.

Does anybody care if the lab is successful any longer or are you just passing time?

Just passing time, I am convinced that in five years or less we should have about 3200 at the most on site and all that will remain is NIF ( if it works, NAI and Z Division)

Are you going to be sick on the 24th and 25th of May?

I never heard anything about the cause but will if I see a movement in that direction

Have you already begun to take home personal items?

All of my stuff is home. I can leave on a moments notice without shedding a tear

If you see your supervisor walking toward your office on 24th of May, will you run?

Nope. I will just say thanks and have a good day and good luck with maybe a few words of telling him to tell ULM to kiss my butt and they are as worthless as boobs on a boar hog. maybe not so nicely

Which way? I don't run

What do you think of being escorted back into the lab to get your stuff?

No need I am prepared

Is your work product ready to be handed off to another in 2 hours?

Don't care. That's not my F problem

What do you think the 24th and 25are going to feel like?

No clue. I am mentally ready now

Should labbies do something like wear black armbands?

No it would just put a set of cross hairs on your back. The idea is to work from the inside as if you were an undercover agent

What are you planning something appropriate if you get fired?

No plan. I am just going to send a notice to all my friends that I got axed and on the way out find a camera and give them the big middle finger

Are you staying home on the 24th and 25th 'cause of fear ?

Nope I'll be there to see what happens

Do you believe what management says or are they just trying to say something to keep you pacified?

They are full of crap up to their eyeballs and NOTHING they say can be believed Not now, not ever.

Is there someone besides Russo you'd like to see canned?

All of ULM from the top down and getting fired to me should come along with a wiping line consisting of 7000 employees , 3500 on each side all handed a wooden stick whereby each ULM member would be require to WALK through with their hands above their heads as they get beat on the way out the gate

Are you still loyal to the crown or, like John Adams after Boston was occupied by his so-called friends, are you flirting with the dark side?

No loyalty here. That went out the window the day they took my UCRP

Can management make the layoff any worse? How? I think they done a fine job of destroying this institution.

They hired the right bozo's to get-r-done. I think when they were hunting for the right hatchetman, they did a google search using the work woppin-prick

How's morale where you are?

Bad. Everyone's uneasy. Those at risk are nervous, and supervisors have been directed to say they know nothing (don't know if that's true or not)

Is your supervisor helpful now or is s/he useless?

Useless, but they have to do what they're told, so I don't blame them.

Does anybody care if the lab is successful any longer or are you just passing time?

Still trying to get my job done, just in case I'm still here in a month.

Are you going to be sick on the 24th and 25th of May?

Actually, I think it's the 22nd and 23rd... No, I'll be here, I'd rather just be done with it than prolong the inevitable.

Have you already begun to take home personal items?

I'm going to start packing this week.

If you see your supervisor walking toward your office on 24th of May, will you run?

No, I'll have mixed feelings, but it's out of my control and my supervisor's, so might as well get it over with.

What do you think of being escorted back into the lab to get your stuff?

I missed the briefings, I didn't realize that was going to be the procedure. I'l lmake sure to take home anything with me soon.

Is your work product ready to be handed off to another in 2 hours?

Ditto to the previous poster, not my problem.

What do you think the 24th and 25are going to feel like?

Not a fun place to be.

Should labbies do something like wear black armbands?

no

What are you planning something appropriate if you get fired?

No, I'm going to be upset, but I'll move on.

Are you staying home on the 24th and 25th 'cause of fear ?

No

Do you believe what management says or are they just trying to say something to keep you pacified?

Who knows...

Is there someone besides Russo you'd like to see canned?

Are you still loyal to the crown or, like John Adams after Boston was occupied by his so-called friends, are you flirting with the dark side?

Still loyal, can't help it...

Can management make the layoff any worse? How? I think they done a fine job of destroying this institution.

While we're trying to figure out how to deal with the BS LLNS is dishing out lets not forget to give them a grade. Please scroll down to the bottom, copy the questions, prepare your answers and then post the final product here. We need to invite NNSA and all the people who were cc'd on that wonderful document that was faxed to the newspapers and various other people exactly how you feel.

Answer The Questions ,read these two fax, and send your answers to the very same people.

Today, for the first time, my supervisor showed a disgruntled attitude; he was really speaking his mind about LLNS; it was refreshing, especially since he was always a "yes" man!
